Privacy Policy - FreeCodeKit
Zero Server Storage Architecture

Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 2026

🔒 The FreeCodeKit Privacy Promise

Unlike traditional web utility platforms, FreeCodeKit does not upload, store, or inspect your files, passwords, financial records, or images on our servers. Every utility on this website runs 100% locally in your browser’s temporary memory via modern Web APIs (Canvas, Web Cryptography, and WebAssembly). Your private information never leaves your device.

1. Information We Do Not Collect (Zero-Data Architecture)

When you use FreeCodeKit's utilities, your computational data remains exclusively within your local runtime session. Specifically:

  • Image & PDF Files: When you convert images (PNG, JPG, WebP), crop photos, or unlock PDFs, the binary bytes are processed solely within client-side browser memory. We maintain zero server storage, databases, or cache directories for your files.
  • Passwords & Keys: Passwords created via the Password Generator, hashes generated in the Hash Generator, and passwords tested in the Password Checker are computed using your device's native Web Crypto API. They are never transmitted over the internet or logged.
  • Financial & Personal Inputs: Values entered into the Income Tax, EMI, GST, or Age calculators are evaluated using client-side JavaScript formulas and are cleared upon closing or refreshing your browser tab.

2. Information We May Automatically Collect

Like virtually all websites, we may collect standard, non-personally identifiable technical telemetry to monitor system uptime, security, and global server performance:

  • Server Log Data: Technical details such as browser type, operating system, referring URL, time stamps, and masked/truncated IP addresses processed by edge networks (e.g., Cloudflare, hosting infrastructure) to defend against DDoS attacks.
  • Aggregated Usage Metrics: Basic anonymous metrics regarding which tool pages are most frequented to assist us in prioritizing feature development.

3. Cookies and Advertising Partners (Google AdSense)

FreeCodeKit is sustained through non-intrusive online advertisements. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites on the internet:

  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to FreeCodeKit and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or through the AboutAds.info Choices page.

4. Third-Party CDNs and Libraries

To maintain lightning-fast page loading speeds, certain open-source client-side scripts are delivered via reputable Content Delivery Networks (such as Cloudflare CDNjs, jsDelivr, or Tailwind CDN). These CDNs serve static, version-pinned JavaScript files (such as pdf.js, chart.js, or JsBarcode) to your browser and do not receive access to any data inputted into the tools.

5. Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA Compliance)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), individuals possess specific rights regarding personal data. Because FreeCodeKit does not store user profiles, account credentials, or user-uploaded files, we do not hold, sell, or monetize any consumer personal identifiable data.

If you have questions concerning any edge server logs or privacy disclosures, you may exercise your rights of inquiry at any time.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

FreeCodeKit does not knowingly target, solicit, or collect personal information from children under the age of 13. All mathematical calculators and web converters are completely accessible without submitting identity records or personal accounts.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect additions to our suite of utility tools or changes in legal regulations. Any updates will be posted directly to this URL with a revised "Last Updated" timestamp.
